Getting started with artbase
New here? This walks you through making an account and finding your feet.
Step 1: Create your account
- Go to artbase.au and choose Sign up.
- If artbase is invite-only right now, you'll be asked for an invite code first. Got one? Enter it. If not, choose Join the waitlist instead and we'll email you a code when spots open.
- Enter your email and a password.
- Pick a username and confirm your date of birth, then agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
- Check your inbox for a verification email and open the link. Activation links last 24 hours.
artbase signs in with an email and password. There's no "continue with Google" or other social login.
Use a strong, unique password. A password manager makes that painless. You can add two-factor authentication later from Settings.
Step 2: Get set up
Right after you register, a short setup walks you through picking a few interests and following some artists. Those choices seed your For You feed, so it's worth a minute. You can follow and unfollow anyone later, any time.
Step 3: Fill out your profile
A profile with a picture and a line about you helps people connect the work to a person.
- Open your avatar menu and choose Edit profile.
- Add a profile picture, a short bio, and a link to your site or socials if you have one.
- Save.
Step 4: Look around
- Browse the home feed: For You is personalised, Following shows the newest work from people you follow, and Trending is what's getting attention now.
- Head to Writing for stories and long reads.
- Use search to find work by title, artist, or tag.
- Like a piece to save it to your collection, and leave a comment to say hello.
Step 5: Post your first piece
Ready to share something? See Uploading your work to post your first image or story. It takes a couple of minutes.
