Uploading your work

This covers posting your work to artbase, whether it's an image or a piece of writing. Posting is about sharing and being seen. Nothing on artbase is listed for sale, so there's no price, no shipping, and no commission.

Before you start

You'll need:

  • A verified account (check your email for the activation link if you haven't yet).
  • The image file, or your writing ready to paste in.

Posting an image

  1. Choose Upload and pick Image.
  2. Drop in your file. Images can be PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP, up to 20 MB. GIFs stay animated.
  3. Give it a title (required, up to 50 characters).
  4. Add a description if you want to say something about it (up to 2,500 characters).
  5. Add tags. Tags are how people find work by subject or style, so a few good ones help.
  6. Set anything that applies:
    • Mature / adult content if it should be gated. Mature work is blurred by default and hidden from anyone under 18.
    • AI-assisted if AI was part of how you made it. Some people choose to hide AI-assisted work from their feed, and this is what that setting reads.
    • A watermark over the image, if you'd like one.
  7. Choose who can see it: Public (feeds and search), Unlisted (only people with the link), or Private (just you).
  8. Choose Publish artwork.

Your post shows up on your profile straight away, and in feeds and search once its thumbnail finishes processing.

Posting writing

Writing (books, chapters, stories, and prose) has its own upload.

  1. Choose Upload and pick Literature.
  2. Add a title and a short blurb.
  3. Optionally add a cover image.
  4. Write or paste your chapters in markdown. Add as many chapters as you need.
  5. Choose Publish.

Your writing appears on your profile and in the Writing catalog.

Pro extras

Two upload features come with artbase Pro:

  • Schedule a post. Queue an upload to publish automatically at a time you pick.
  • Bulk upload. Post many images in one batch instead of one at a time.

Editing or removing a post

Open the menu on your own post:

  • Edit to change the title, description, tags, or settings.
  • Delete to remove it. This can't be undone.
